I've seen many iBook users change their logo's color ... but i havn't seen a lot of people change the Powerbooks...

*I wasn't sure to post it in Mac Modification or PB, but i prefer PB section cause its for these people to see*

Well.. i bit the bullet and did it myself..
Was it easy? NO..
I spent over an hour and a half and probably 4 credit cards (old expired credit cards or local point cards that i don't use)
I made sure i didn't want to break anything or even scratch the casing.
One of the hardest part was to get to the hex screw on the bottom of the screen. I had to hack my hex tool to make it shape the lines of the PB.

In the end.. i'm really happy with the end result.

I bought the color peices off

www.colourfulapples.com

which i found was a really cheap price.. so it wasn't all that bad.

Thanks..
What really amazes me is how Apple has the LCD setup.
Its closed by 2 hex screws and the rest of it.. (to my knowledge) is basicly just using your power to open it up. What keeps it closed is something like rivits on the inside of the edges..
I've never taken apart a laptop before.. and i was trying to look for guides on how to do it online.. but most of them didn't say anything ...

This website was somewhat helpful and kind of guided me on what to do..

Well, the apple now looks..... blue!
Not that I don't recognise your skills in taking the screen apart and putting it back together, I just think I prefer the apple logo to stay white. Sorry.
But it just looks much better as it is. Think I saw a string with moded apples just like this under Customization a while ago.
Let us know if you get any problems with your screen :-/

Does the same technique work on the 15" Aluminium lid? No extra traps? To my knowledge this is the first place I have seen freely available information on opening the aluminium lid on powerbooks.

Thanks to the original poster.

Yea.. its pretty much the same.. I have the 15" and like i mentioned before...
How the 15" lid stays close is.. the outter lid is latched onto the lcd.
You have to basicly pry it off (unhook) the lcd part and it will come loose.
Now, to me, this was not a easy task. I wanted to make sure i didn't break anything, so i kind of took my time.
I started off on the bottom where the 2 hex screws are... I tried to get a hold of anything i could and just start a little gap. Then i started working on the sides.
Another hard part is the top corners. Once i got there, i was kind of stuck again because the credit cards couldn't really turn around the edges..
So then i left the cards inside the side edges while i started from the latch.
That worked and with time.. the top came loose.
I left the bottom edge last cause everything is connected to the computer.

When putting it back together, you have to watch the bottom side because you'll see that they have clamps on the bottom side and when you close it, make sure everything is inside.
