I would like to put tiger on my powerbook, but I dont have the time to do it if I'm going to have to deal with heat issues, etc. From looking at the posts, it seems all of these are on 1.33, etc older machines. I have a new model (1.5, but newest rev) so will it probably be just fine if I archive and install? Would doing a full reformat install be functionally better in any way, as in cleaner, run better, etc? Thanks!

It's always better to do a clean install if you don't mind the time it takes to reinstall all of your stuff.

I've had none of the heat problems you are talking about on my 1.67.

Is it possible to partition a small portion of the disk (say ~5 gigs) and store my mp3s on it and then do a clean install on the rest of the disk? I dont have a superdrive and burning 10 cds is just annoying.
