I am running osx on an ibook 1.8..256 ram
i have noticed that my hard drive spins every few seconds even when i am doing nothing on the comp.. sometimes it wakes up from sleep when the drive spins like this..
any idea why this is so.. something must be wrong..
It is probably your computer using virtual memory. OS X is always doing something in the background, so with only 256mb of ram it needs to access the hard disk far more often. Really the minimum for smooth OS X performance is 512mb.
