i looked on kingston's website to see if there is officially listed compatability with my powerbook and it lists this type of ram as compatible with 17" 1.67 powerbook:
KTA-PBG4333/1G 1GB PC2700 SODIMM
is this the same exact ram being sold on outpost here:
http://shop1.outpost.com/product/438...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG
if not, does kingston still guarantee the outpost ram to work even though its not listed to officially work on kingston's site (nor on outpost's site)?
in addition, i have another question, although this one might be kinda dumb (im not too hardware savvy and havent dealt with ram much)
if the ram turns out to be bad or something and the computer is having problems, if i take the offending ram out and reboot, everything should go back to normal right?

I believe the memory on outpost is kingston valueram which is their generic line. I bought this same memory for my 15" 1.67 and it's been working perfectly for the last month.
I don't think kingston would guarantee it to work in your powerbook (although it works great in mine), they would only guarantee it's not defective.
I think if the ram did turn out to be defective or non-compatible, removing it should return your system to normal.

so whats the difference between valueram and regular ram?
is valueram somehow more risky to use?

also, if the valueram works in your powerbook (like many here have stated), then why doesn't kingston say it works in powerbooks in the description?

haha, i just realized, you're the same person who told me to start this thread!
sorry, didnt recognize your username
anyway, i did order the ram and it came today! installed it and ran rember to test it, it checked out (the testing took a while, about an hour or so and my cpu was blazing at 100%). now im running alright (been a couple hours now, so far so good).
one last thing i'd like to know for sure though, is if taking out bad ram will make everything go back to normal in case something happens with it

What ever the case be sure to take out the Ram before you take it to Apple [i.e. that is if something happens that you need to take it in for repair, which I hope is never]. And at that point you will then know the answer to your question. I believe you are committed
