Could someone tell me how to maintain my Powerbook, so it will run and work almost as good as the day I bought it? I know for Windows, you would do a disk clean up for unnecessary files on the hard drive, is there something on the Mac HD that I should delete routinely? IE also would be deleting cookies and caches and history with the temp. IE folder. Any other suggestions on maintaining and cleaning unnecessary files on my PB?

For Safari, empty your cache (or when you hear about Safari Enhancer being updated for Tiger, deactivate your cache). If you have AutoFill on for Others, go through and edit it down to the bare minimum. Both will help Safari.

Disk Utility is built-in and repairing permissions from time to time can help. You can also run cron jobs in a variety of ways (lots on this subject in a quick search of the forums).
