My 2 month old AlBook 15" seems to have a battery that dies in 1 hour or so. I'm a little puzzled why. I have not lived off the battery (much) in the first 2 months.

Before you do anything else, I would try recalibrating the battery. It's mentioned in the manual, but the simple explanation is that you let the battery run all the way down until the PB puts itself to sleep (let it give you the warnings first). Then give it a full charge. The batteries do get a bit of a memory if they are not allowed to fully discharge. You may not have calibrated it initially and the fact that you did not "live off the battery" during the first two months may have added to the problem. Good luck.

Re-calibrate the battery as mentioned, reset the nvram and pmu, and download X-Charge to monitor and document your battery usage (it works in Panther and I presume in Tiger.)

Can you tell me how to "reset the nvram" (I don't even know what nvram is!) and "pmu" (what is that). Is either of these the same as PRAM?
