I was wondering what the typical battery life is for other owners of 15" AlBooks out there is... I have a 1.5Ghz model and I typically get about 2-2 1/2 hours of battery life. I used to have an ibook and i got about double that with the iBook. i know the PowerBook uses more juice and hence the "Power" part of its name but to me it just seems unacceptable. Maybe I am crazy and 2 1/2 hours is normal. LMK what you guys are getting. Thanks.

I'm getting about 2 hours on average with my Rev D 15". If I'm using the DVD drive a lot (i.e. watching a movie) I'm lucky to get 1/5 hours.
In general the battery life on these things is well below the industry average.... truly a bummer.

2 - 2 1/2 hour with normal usage. Just surfing, e-mail, word document.
DVD drive kills and it drops it to about 1 1/2 hour...
If you want to maximize your battery life..
Turn off airport extreme carad when not needed (use a network cable)
Turn off bluetooth
Set Processor to reduced
Set brightness to lowest
That should give it a bit more battery life

Yup, same here. Sometimes, I can't even finish the DVD without the battery running out. Guess it's time to get one of those NewerTech batteries.

after more than a year with my 15 inch 1,25ghz powerbook I still around 3 hours use with airport enabled. I guess the more powefull processore eats up the battery life a bit more.

That sounds about right... I just replaced the battery in my 15" 1.25 (purchased December 2003) after it fell below 2.500 Ah, which gave me somewhere just north of an hour with Airport on and everything else dimmed or turned off. I now get somewhere close to 4 hours with the same settings on a 4.400 Ah battery. Haven't completely drained it yet, but it seems to be pretty accurate thus far.

I get about 2-3 with regular usage (screen about half way and processor at reduced), 3.5-4 with screen down and airport off.
It tends to drop to around 1.5-1.75 with things maxed out.

Wow, Thanks for all the input guys. I guess I am right around the normal mark. I figured the 5400 rpm drive and maybe the 128 VRam video made it drain a little faster. My wife's 1.33 12" gets so much better battery life that I was getting jelous! I jusr purchased a second battery off the forum here and I guess when the power runs down I will just throw the 2nd battery in Thanks again for all the input.
