I know this question seems really rudimentary, but how would I connect my 12-inch PowerBook to a TV? I already bought the Mini DVI to Video adapter needed, so do I just get a composite cable to connect to my TV? Also, do I just get a line out-to-composite cable for sound? Any special adapters needed? Thanks.

You need: 1) the video adaptor you already have, 2) a composite or s-video cable, 3) red/white audio cables, and 4) stereo headphone jack to RCA adaptor for the sound, available from Radio Shack. Or just replace 3 and 4 with a single adaptor cable if they have that.

i'm having a little problem with this as well. i have the apple mini-vga to rca/svid breakout but apparently i need to switch my resolution to 720x480 ntsc, which is not an option on my powerbook. my only choices are 1024x768 and 800x600. note that i'm still using jaguar (for software compatibility reasons). does anyone have any insight about this?

also, my trackpad is kind of schizo and cant decide if it wants to show up on my tv or my actual monitor and there is no obvious reason why and when it switches.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

It doesn't matter which resolution you set as long as it is listed as an NTSC resolution (for North America).

I don't understand your second question unless your are referring to desktop mirroring (where the TV is the same as your PB display) or desktop spanning (where your TV acts as an extension of your PB display. Go to your displays preferences while connected to the TV to see the options.
