Hi,

A friend of mine asked me to look at this, but I am in need of your help. She said her ibook was working fine up to this point.

The ibook will boot, chime and all, and then in about ten second it automatically shut off. Sometimes it even boots all the way, but again it automatically shuts off.

I tried the pram reset, but it still does the same thing. I also tried to boot off my panther cd, but no change. I've tried booting with and without battery, with and without ac. I've removed the memory chip and all.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Try to reset the Power Management Unit. You need to press the little button on the left side of the iBook next to the audio jack for 5 seconds while the iBook is turned off.
