I know that this has been discussed previously, but, the links did not work when I tried them. I am changing the drive in my 3400c, and was looking for the instructions. I know that it is an old powerbook, but, it is all that I have.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Michael, KD7GHZ

It has been some time since I changed the hard drive out in that model. IIRC the hard drive isn't very difficult to change out. Take the keyboard off by taking a couple screws out of the bottom of the unit. After you do that there should be a cover that needs to come off and the hard drive is right there.
I couldn't find a take apart manual. Maybe someone else has a link they could hook you up with.

You have to remove the top case (wrist rest/trackpad) and the HD is under the left wrist rest. It's been a while since I did this, too, but IIRC, it's not the worst procedure. Much better than an iBook or AlBook. Not as easy as a TiBook, though.
