I recently sent back my 12-inch PowerBook (1GHz) for repair because the hinge was creaky. But, when I got back my PowerBook, I noticed that the technicians at AppleCare did a piss poor job of repairing my PowerBook. The hinge was kind of fixed, while they totally ruined the fit and finish of the case, especially with respect to the battery bay. Apparently, from what I can tell, the bastards at the repair depot dropped the battery (which was only three weeks old because the original battery crapped out... $129 well spent) because the metal casing was deformed to the point where it won't fit into the bay. I finally got a replacement battery from AppleCare after hours on the phone trying to convince them that they were responsible, and that I did NOT want to "go down to your local Apple retail store and ask them what they think." The AppleCare that I knew from a few years ago is GONE, replaced by idiots who spout only stock Apple responses. Now today, while inspecting the PB case closer, I noticed that the gray plastic trim around the top case was cracked near the battery bay. I also noticed that certain areas of the inner metal frame in the battery bay were warped, though I'm not sure how it looked originally. My question is will the plastic trim come apart from the rest of the metal case over time, in that it detaches or "swings out" from the case near the crack?

Also, can anyone post a picture of the empty battery bay so I can compare what a non-deformed bay looks like? I've found some online, but they don't seem detailed enough.

Finally, what exactly is a tier 1, tier 2, etc. AppleCare technician/rep.?
