I have a problem with my iBook (1GHz). I have the TV adapter, but my computer recognizes that adapter as a VGA display, just as with the VGA adapter.

I have actually had my computer serviced once because the same thing happened, only that time when i rebooted the computer it did not boot up again. They replaced the logic board, and things worked again for a while, but now the problem has resurfaced. This time the computer works in every other way, and even the video out port works if I connect a VGA monitor to it using the VGA adapter.

Is there a way to "force" the computer to see that it actually is a TV adapter and not the VGA adapter? Any other things I could try out before I part with my computer for another two weeks to get it serviced again?

Have you restarted? The last time I used the S-Video adapter with my iBook 466, I had to restart before it would give me access to the TV resolutions.
