Hello, I was wondering if someone would be able to give me any advice... The delete key on my iBook is broken, it keeps coming off :/ I can put it back on, but it just goes on wonky & when I prod it (to delete something ) it just comes off again. Has this happened to anyone else?
Thank you for reading this!

It's never happened to me (yet) but I've heard of it happening to other people on a few occassions. Is your machine still under warranty?

one of the clips is broken by the sound of it. if you go to an Apple service centre you may well be able to get a replacement key. in the UK you can normally get this F.O.C.

You seem to live in london, got any experience with the apple store there? if i take it there in the morning can i walk out with a fixed ibook pretty quickly?

Just dont make any mistakes and you'll be fine. No seriously take it in, I've heard of them giving a free keyboard now and then!

Thanks for the help, I think I'll see if I can get a new key (or a new keyboard if I can't just get a new key) the next time I'm near the Apple Store which should be pretty soon.
EDIT: It's not still under warrenty, but it probably shouldn't really cost much.

The Genius Bar at any Apple Store has literally a whole drawer full of replacement keys for any Apple keyboard. Just walk up and ask, and they should just give you one.

Replacement key caps, maybe. Replacement keyboards... I don't think so. They cost about $100 for a new keyboard.
My brother bought my old Lombard PowerBook from me and the keyboard died 3 months later. It cost him $100 to buy a new one from Apple. He asked me what to do with the old one, so I said (jokingly) take the key caps off and sell them (the caps) on eBay. A week later he called me and said someone paid him $47.00 for the key caps alone!

I called apple care up on sunday to see if they'll give me caps for a keyboard that had some letters wearing off. They ended up sending me a whole new keyboard for free.
