OK, I have a chance to get a really good deal on a nearly-new(received as a gift a month ago) 12" PB tomorrow. Of course, Monday is the WWDC, and I guess there is a possibility that the PB line could be refreshed in the Stevenote. Or is there?
Am I insane if I buy a PB tomorrow? Do you think we'll see new PBs at the WWDC, instantly making my purchase old technology?

yes, you are insane. the new G9 Powerbook with holographic display and AMD chip will be announced on monday. WAIT and you will be able to transport through space and time for just a little more cash than your 'good deal'.

Eitther there is or there isn't, I'd just wait the extra day. If there is, you might be able to get something new and faster, if not then you'll still get a good deal. FWIW, good deals tend to be good deals even before product refreshses, we got our G5 powermac for a pretty nice price, but because it was a single processor machine it got totally skipped when they refreshed the lineup, so we still got it for a good price

Look, just because Stevie Wonder may announce the end of PowerPC for Apple doesn't mean that the powerbook will lose any of its features or abilities. Buy it on its merits, not on what the trends will be a year from now. You will not find any 12" notebook as nice as the powerbook. Good hunting!
