I know this topic doesn't strictly belong in the powerbook forum, but there didn't seem to be any software discussion forum and being the proverbial 'noob' if there is i can't find it. Anyhow, on to business.
I recently acquired a file with the .rar compression format and tried to extract it using an older version of stuffit expander, 7.(something or other) and it says there is a format error. Upon trying to download an update after many years of not doing so, i realize suddenly they make you pay for using stuffit expander and i'm not even sure if the latest payed version of stuffit will be able to handle .rar files
So i'm asking you, the forum goers of macnn if there is any good FREE software that can handle .rar files on mac or if not, does the latest pay to use version of stuffit expander do them?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
