I've made the executive decision to go ahead and stop waiting and actually buy the PB 12" i've been wanting for so long. My only question is how much ram i should get with it. I'm a college student, who will be using the PB for the internet, word processing, AIM, email, photos, and calendar. I'm also going to probably acquire a good amount of widgets with dashboard....

Sooooo. Is there a big difference between 512mb, 768mg, and 1gb of ram? The 768 is only a $75 bump, and the 1gb from crucial is $190...

i'm thinking get the 768mb because that seems like a good medium withotu payin too much. i tend to have a lot of windows open at one time, so maybe the step up from 512 to 768 should work out well? has anyone seen any noticeably differences between their ram packages?

thanks.

This has been discussed many, many times here. You can never have too much memory. Get however much you can afford.

Get however much to can afford..
Keep in mind.. if you get the 512mb.. you can't buy another 512mb to make it 1.25GB ...
You'll have to sell the 512mb in order to buy a 1GB... might be safter just to max it out now.. if you can afford it...

Gotta agree w/ the posters above, you can't go wrong w/ more memory, specially considering that it is the #1 factor in speeding up performance, and that the average computer user never really bothers to upgrade the initial amount of memory. Might as well go as big as you can from the get go and enjoy the performance boost right off the bat.
