How much of a preformance increase?

Does it suck alot more power/make the book more noisy/hot?

I'll let you know. I did the upgrade last night. Xbench is actually reporting lower disk scores! I went from the stock 80 gig 5400 RPM Hitachi to a 7200 60 gig Hitachi. I'm working on it now to see if I see any performance gains in my apps.
15" Macbook Pro 1.83 2 GB RAM
Blackbook 13.3 Powerhouse 2 GB RAM
MacMini Dual Core 2 GB RAM (Sadly running Windows Most of the time)
Numerouse Workstations running windows and Linux. Sorry don't have the specs, I don't pay much attention to them anymore. :)

What are the seek times for those drives?

Completely worth it on my Powerbook Pismo G3/400mhz. Totally silent and much faster.

Ouch BkueKanoodle - is this the case with other people as well?

I guess I'm most interested in the effect it has on battery life - does it take a signifigant hit/gain or is it about the same?
