I do a lot of work with final cut and I want to purchase a 30-inch monitor for obvious reasons. I was planning on purchasing a Dual 2.0 PM as well, but with the recent intel news I've decided to wait on it...Anyway, I currently have a Rev. A 17" PowerBook and was wondering if there was anyway I could use it with the 30"? And if yes, what would be the maximum resolution?

Thanks in advance.

The maximum resolution would probably be the same as the 23" cinema display. This is a bad idea to buy a 30" with a Rev A 17" as you won't be able to use the monitor in its native resolution. The picture will look blurry... Get the 23" if you need more space for you PB (or get a new PB which does support dual-DVI link needed for the 30").

You will have to sell/swap for a new PB.

amazon has some rebates going on i think.

the new 17" will drive it fine.
