Hi

I have installed 1Go of RAM on wednesday on my PB 15I 1.67Ghz and since then, some softwares crash.

Safari crashes several times this morning. The dock disappeared twice and each time I need to restart the computer.

I wonder if the problem comes from the RAM I have just isntalled. Is there a software to test it? or the fact that Mac OS tells me that the RAM is installed shows that there is no problem and the two events - softwares crashing and install of new RAM - are independent.

Thanks.

You can use the hardware test CD. Notice that it doesn't always detect faulty RAM though.

Thanks Pat.

I did run the HW test this morning and everything is OK. However, Safari still crashes very often - once every hour - as well as mail and MS Word. Those softwares never crash before I have installed the RAM.

What should I do? A clean install?

Thanks.

I would try taking the new memory out and see if the problems still exist??

I have not taken the memory out yet.

However, I have just noticed that I cannot use anymore Safari beyond 3 URLS. What I mean by that is that I can only go to 3 different pages and if I click on a link or click on a bookmark - anything that would load a page for the 4th time since the launch of the software - Safari stops working. It hangs like that, trying to connect, and the little round thing on the left of the tab is moving none stop for hours if I let it do it.

It has just appeared yesterday night. What should I do?
