Hello all,
I have been so desperate for a powerbook that I have even taken to trolling ebay for used ones. I know about the scams, but it doesn't hurt to look, especially at the older models that I can afford. I see many 677mz-800mhz and 1ghz powerbooks that say they have airport (not airport extreme) installed. Can these powerbooks be updated to airport extreme without too much trouble ? Are they 100% compatible ? Thanks in advance.

No, not without a third party 802.11g PC card. The built-in Airport in those machines is 802.11b only.
