i would like to have this on my desktop too, do i need to dl a program to do this? sorry for being so vague, but i dont know how to explain it. heres a picture:



to the left of the dock (in the left hand corner), the song playing in iTunes is displayed, and you can also pause/play, and skip to the next track..

Probably a shapshifter theme, but I don't use shapshifter so I wouldn't really know for sure.

is shapeshifter some sort of program? i would like to have itunes show up on my desktop like that.

Check out a program called 'Synergy' it's available on Versiontracker.com it's what I use to do just that. Excellent program and worth the registration fee. Give it a try though, they let you use it for a while to demo it.

i was looking for something a little more simple.. just like the image above. i know for sure i dont want to pay to do this though.. any other suggestions?

it would be from a icon catalouge i would imagine. i got an icon set from www.pixelgirlpresents.com so you might have to browse around a few sites to find either that one or ones you like.

With You Control iTunes you can have that on your desktop. In the Menu play around in the 'Overlay' menu, you can customize the window that pops up, the size, position, font etc...

Its a great app. It lets you controo iTunes and playlists from the menu bar as well. I love it!

use Growl.
add Spark if you want to use keyboard shortcuts.

i use Synergy (it has a few more nice features), but the above are free.

thanks for the suggestions, but im kind of hooked on the you control: tunes.. just waiting for them to send an email with the serial key.

ive tried on my powerbook and pc.. no luck. i sent them an e-mail yesterday, nothing yet. i'll try again now.

edit: same problem as before. whenever i click the submit button, nothing happens.

well just got an email from their tech support. they sent me a different link and it worked. you software: tunes is great! thanks for the suggestion d.fine.
