The screen isn't great, but it's not "horridly unbareable." You could always hook it up to a TV with the right adapter. I wouldn't recommend a Powerbook if you're a serious gamer, though, for reasons aside from the screen (ie video card).

"Good" and "cheap" do not go well together in the computer world.

Your best bet is to find a cheap Dell DESKTOP on sale.

Cheap gaming exists in the form of consoles.

The sensible solution here if you want a cheap gaming solution would be to spend the $ for a good desktop, then get a cheap laptop (perhaps an old TiBook or iBook) for doing stuff on-the-run. The only laptop computer I have personally seen run WoW incredibly well was a Dell XPS2 laptop, a heavy sucker which must have weighed at least 9 pounds, was loud as hell, and incredibly bulky.

If you insist on powerbook, however, I'd recommend a 15" with at least 1.5GB of memory - you will experience lag in the cities and when there's a lot of players around and at times when the landscape is too detailed, mainly because the bottleneck will be a combination of the GPU and your hard drive - perhaps even the processor. The 12" FX5200 is far too underpowered to run anything of the sort, even with maxed out memory.

Get an iBook. Bigger screen and cheaper.

I'm broke, will a new PowerBook work for playing games just doesn't win much empathy.
