I just bought my 2nd refurbished apple product and again it was better than describe.

I order the 1gz model and it came. It works great. No dead pixels. Everything looks new (except the box that is).

It was supposed to come with a 60gb 4200 rpm harddrive, but the fun part about ordering refurbished is sometimes you get a built to order model that is a little better.

this one came with an 80gb HD that is 5400rpm! Awesome. I'm so happy. That's exactly waht I was hoping for when I ordered it.

It didn't come with an airport card though and this is the only new alumium powerbook 15 that doesn't.

I think you install the airport card in the battery slot, but right now I'm trying to calibrate my battery and I don't won't to remove it to check. In the book that came with it, they said it should come with an airport card installed, but that was only true on 1.25 models.

this was only airport ready.

• To clarify where do I install it? How do I do it? Any links on apple's site?

It only came with 256mb. Right now I'm only going to use this to write on the go and such, but I still want it to fly when I need it.

For what I need, should 512 extra do the trick or should I just opt for a 1gb stick?

Thank you.

I fully support buying refurbished computers from apple. It's sweet.

What do you mean, "calibrate battery?" How/why do you calibrate the battery?

If you can get 1GB of ram, it won't hurt.

I think it's when you take a brand-new battery, power it up all the way, then let it drain all the way before charging it again to extend the life of the battery.
