I want to try to run my computer with the lid closes. Everything works fine (as per instructions). But I have a VGA LCD monitor, and the resolution that it sets the monitor defaultly at is out of sync. Any idea?

Perhaps change the resolution or refresh frequency? Make adjustments with the lid open.

No matter what I set the monitor to before I put it to operate in lid closed mode, it always goes back to 1024x768. I am now running with it spanned. Does anyone know how I could get it to go right to Lid closed mode w/o unplugging monitor b/c that might work.

endoscient,

I have a 20" ACD and I just connect all my cables to my PB, close the lid, and wiggle my mouse. The external display then turns on with my dock, desktop wallpaper ect.

I don't think you have to click the spanning box because that's telling your PB that you want both screens to be used instead of the external display only.

Make sure that you have the AC adapter plugged in for your PB or the external will only span and mirror. I don't think there is anything else that could be wrong. What rev. is your PB? Maybe your video card cannot power your external display?
