I was planning on purchasing a 12" PB tomorrow, but when I told my friend about my plans he told me that Apple was going to have a press conference on July 7 and that rumors are going around that it could be about new PBs (not necessarily G5, just a revision).

I searched around on the internet for any info on this and couldnt really find anything substantiating his claim, but I figured I'd ask on here as well.

Has anyone heard anything, or should I just go ahead and order the PB tomorrow?

You will never see a G5 PowerBook. The press con is likely for the iTunes phone.

well i mean, i can wait for a little while. im leaving for school in august, so id like to get the PB around late july/early august at the latest.

i just dont know if any revisions would come out that fast/if the price would go up.

ill probably just order it tomorrow.

You might as well just wait and see if a revision comes out. Chances are it won't, but it will suck if it happens and you just ordered yours.

On a side note, with each revision of a product, Apple doesn't raise their prices, they lower them, or keep them the same and add more features.

If your saying you "can" wait until early august then by all means do so. I'm not saying this is at all indicative of me thinking that new models will come, but you never know. Any update will probably be marginal, and you can possibly get a new machine for cheaper, or one of the outgoing models for significantly cheaper. It's only a month..
