after installing tiger when using the keys to adjust the brightness / sound it takes forever to take effect, and even longer for the little graphics to pop up showing the adjustments. sometimes i can hold the volume buttons and the sound will adjust but it might take a good 60 seconds for the graphic to pop up. the brightness doesnt work untill the graphic comes up, i can hold it down for a few seconds and it does no thing then a good 60-90 seconds later the screen will dim. its not consistant either. if i do alot of adjustments it seems to be alot smooth but if i havent done it in a while it takes forever ; \ no thing else lags out though while its waiting for that, i can do anything else in the background with no problems.

Tiger needs much more RAM. Does it happen when you have no application launched? (try to close all Dashboard widgets as well, they eat up a lot of memory). It's true that 60 sec is very long... even if it was due to memory...

no i did an upgrade. yes it happens when no apps are open, if i havent done it in a while. if i adjust the brightness right now(with only safari open) it takes a 60-90 seconds to take effect, if i wait 5 minute and do it again it will be instant. if i wait an hour and adjust again it will be back to 60-90 seconds.

i havent tried closing out all the widgets i have like 5 of them, ill try that next.

clean install if you can, for sure. and buy more RAM, it's cheap enough these days.
