Is it possible (or how hard is it) to replace the CD drive on an iBook 600 (16mb vRam)?

At Apple support, I don't see any documentation on how to do this, I have seen the drives for sale on the net.

The iBook manual shows how to add memory and an airport card but not how to replace the cd drive. I am assuming then, it's not for the average person to do or even possible.

That's awesome! Now I have to decide if that's for me to do or take it to the Apple store! At least I know it's possible.

The Apple Store would not even talk to me on the phone about it. They said I had to bring it in even to just have basic conversation about it. At least if I go into the store, I am not blind as to the process.

I have done it, and it is not easy. I ended up messing up some plastics, and that is having practiced on another iBook. So unless you know what you are doing, be careful.
