hi all. just got my new 12" for work (finally got the company to let me switch!) and i am curious about the ram upgrades:

1) can i replace *both* ram slots to get to 2gb? (i think i can but am just double checking).

2) everyone seems to be experimenting with a bunch of ram, so i just want to see is anyone has found a great deal that is still available and if there is anything i should be weary of.

thanks for the input!!!!!

The 12" has 256Mb soldered on-board, meaning you can't replace it, and you can max it out at 1.256MB RAM.

Be weary of cheap RAM. Many people here will recommend Crucial and the likes.

1. No. There's only one slot. The 256 MB is 8 chips soldered directly on the board.

Is this good quality RAM? It is a good brand?

I would buy crucial but the Gig of RAM is over 200 buck for my 12' PB, a bit expensive compared to this one on new egg. Any other good brands for a Gig of RAM out there that you can recommend?

Check Ramseeker.com for best prices. I went with one of the lowest prices from a reputable company three times, and the RAM's worked fine every time. make sure it comes with a replacement guarantee if there's a problem; all good companies will offer such a warranty.
