Hi,
I just bought what I hope to be a steal of a deal off of eBay for $500 (15"/1.25ghz/60gb/768mb ram etc.) but it has a broken display. According to the owner, the problem is that after booting up, all it displays is a white/blue cloudy dark color with nothing else displayed, yet it works fine when hooked up to an external monitor. My question is, is this a broken LCD screen, or is it simply a problem with the logic board? Or is it possibly something else? I plan to take it into the Apple Store to see what they think the problem is, but I wondered if any of you had any ideas? I don't plan on having Apple fix it, far too much money, but I need to know what it is so I can figure out what part to buy.

Congrats on a great deal!

The problem could be as trivial as the damaged flex cable (what connects the LCD to the logic board). These cables have a tendency to wear out. I've found them in the past for $10-40 on eBay.
