With the PB being a G4 and all, do you find that H.264 plays well or that it the PB isn't high-powered enough? I've read that you need a G5 to get H.264 to work.

It depends on the resolution of the video and what G4 you're using.

480p files seem to play fine on my 1.5 GHz 17" (all energy settings to "high"). 720p files stutter, but then, their resolution is higher than the screen on my PowerBook.
Scooters are more fun than computers and only slightly more frustrating

I was hoping that the powerbook could read both the 720p and the 1080p files. So that means that even with the ATI Radeon 9700 and like 1.5 gigs of ram the powerbook will have difficulty reading 720p files?

Yes. You need a G5 to play 720p. The 1.67 G4 is not fast enough.

Forget it. Won't work. I wish it did.
