FedEx....Anyone know if they'll be kind to me?

So, my Powerbook arrived at the destination sort facility on saturday and I got 2 day shipping. However, they have the schedueled delivery date set on tuesday. Do they ever ship things ahead of time or might they throw it on the back burner until they have to deliver to meet their deadline?

sometimes, fedex (in my experience) tends to deliver things early. my g5 was suppose to arrive a week from the day i ordered it, but then it arrived in 3 or 4 days...
big shock to me..

sometimes.
firs thing monday morning check the ticket number.
if it says 'Out for delivery" by 8:00 am it should be there that day.

checking the website is def. your best bet.
personally, i know my local fedex refuses to deliver until the day its due. they are also a pain if i am not there to sign for the package for the first try. then they make me wait another day with another delivery attempt until i can go pick it up myself.

FedEx consistently delivers ahead of schedule to me.
Then again, this is because there is no FedEx ground station in Juneau, Alaska. As a result, FedEx always puts on the Wost Case Scenario shipping date; which would only happen if the deliveryman were picked up by aliens, probed, returned, mauled by a bear on the way to his truck, stitched up, mugged on the way out of the hospital, forced to have a locksmith open his truck, fish out the spare key from under the dash, then run out of gas on the way to my house.
So your mileage may vary.

Whenever I buy from Apple I just order with ground shipping, see their sacramento facility (elk grove) is JUST overnight for me, no matter what 
The funny thing is, 2 day changes the estimate to 2 day.. I never figured that one out.
With my PB I ordered through the developer store on late Tuesday night/wednesday morning, at like 8 wednesday morning I faxed off the info, didn't get much feedback so I called them to make sure they had it (they sent an email stating otherwise), they fed through, I called the person "in charge of the order" and they approved/sent it, it left at like 6 from their place and was at my door at 9am, just in time for me to dump some apps on it and use it in class
Funny, the 30 mins of battery charge lasted the whole 2 hours I needed it. Woohoo!

FedEx, unfortunately, was not kind to me  . It seems I will be waiting till approximately 4:30 tomorrow to get to work.

fedex is good in some cases. however, i had something that said out for delivery at like 6am but it did not arrive at my house till after 1130pm. they didnt even make me sign for it. just left the 60lb package at the door.

Is the destination sort facility close to you? If it is, you can call and arrange to pick it up at the facility if you are aching to get it and cannot wait until tuesday.
