I'm having a weird problem right now. I'm working on stuff on my newest version of the Powerbook and suddenly the computer goes to sleep for no reason. It doesn't matter what program it is. And then it takes a minute or two of clicking on the keyboard to get it to wake up from sleep.
Also, sometimes when I close the lid, it won't go to sleep at all! What's wrong with this and can someone help me what to do? (I'm still new to Mac)

Sounds like a hardware issue - bring the laptop to the nearest Apple store, or call up their support. It seems this problem is becoming fairly widespread among the newest iteraction of Powerbooks, particularly the 15''....

No, I do not have any "hard evidence" for this, but I have met at least two people who complained about similar symptoms with their new 15'' PBs. This should not be a big deal - Apple should be able to take care of your machine promptly.
I had a weird problem with my Rev D 15'' PB: it started to act up randomly when it was put asleep; the sleep light would go crazy, the keyboard backlighting would stop working all of a sudden, or the whole computer would put itself asleep even while I was typing on it. Apple fixed my computer very quickly and it has been perfect ever since. I am positive that they will help you too

What I don't understand is why apple hasn't fixed this issue. If they have boards they can put in that aren't faulty, why don't they just ship them already in the computer instead of the faulty ones? Do they like putting out a bad quality control image?

I just got off the phone with Apple support and they wanted to charge me $49 for the support or they asked me to buy Applecare. Of course it will be refunded back to me after they recognize it was their hardware issue, but it's still too much of an hassle for me to do that.
I wish there was a easier way than sending it back to Apple... or taking it to their Apple store. I don't have time.
