How old is your system and is it under applecare or the initial 1 year warrenty?

To me this points to hardware, though Detrius (a mod here is a much better authority on this).

It might be as "simple" as a making sure your video card is correctly seated or it may be more.

I dont know if it is possible to change it or it is itegrated with the motherboard.

Please don't do anything too drastic. My knowledge has been gained from reading forums and playing around with my machine, though my PB is a model of conformity.

Hopefully someone with a greater knowledge will appear with possible solutions.

There's not much you can do. Reset the PRAM and PMU and perform a clean install of the OS. It could just be your graphics drivers that are messed up, so a clean install would fix it. Also try going to your base memory config. If you have two SO-DIMMs, try switching each one out to see if you have a problem there. Finally, don't take the machine apart. If you don't know where anything is or what is in there, you have no reason to take it apart, and you could just make the problem worse if it is hardware.

i think the vulcan-key-grip is to hold CMD+OPTION+P+R while (re)booting. your Mac will automatically reboot. keep holding this until it has rebooted three times.

nb.
rereading this post i think it only misses, "and look towards the Moon while waving your arms and running circles around the table holding the apple"
