Well, I think the battery in my wife's powerbook (1GHz Ti) has fimally bit the dust, so we're in the market for a new one. Does anyone know a reputable place to order one? Froogle yields a bunch of places that are selling them for $99 (List is $129, I think), but I've heard that Li-Ion batteries age whether or not you use them, and the places that sell them cheap may be selling older ones.
I've read that the OWC higher-capacity batteries won't put the laptop to sleep when they run down, so that disqalifies them in our book.
Also, has anyone heard of batteryrefill.com? They claim that they open up batteries and replace the Li-Ion cells in them while keeping the power management circuitry intact. This way, you can get the benefit of newer, higher-capacity cells while still keeping the power management features that the OWC batteries lack. I've found more than a few satisfied customers while googling around for references, but they all seem to be PC users. Have any Mac users here used the service? For the Ti book, they'll do the exchange for $85.
Thanks!
