Wow, so this is what its like to post a message with mac people. Well can say im switching forever, but I did just buy a new IBOOK $999 model from apple site. Mostly I will use it for internet but I need to know the ins and outs of the mac os.
So the question is, what web pages are the best for beginners of osX ?
I am windows savy, but mac stupid, where can i start?
Thanks!

Go to your nearest Apple store and attend their free classes...
Do you have (dot) mac? There are free tutorials online for this as well.
Go to Apple.com / Support / Discussions / <ask your question there>

Just to save you a lot of time and hassle - don't install any virus software on your Ibook or any mac for that matter.
Hope you like it, you'll never switch back once you see how superior os x is to windows.

There are currently no viruses or trojan horse infectors that attack OS X in the wild. That does not mean there won't ever be any, so do not get the impression that Macs are "immune." They are not susceptible to Windows bugs, but there are no doubt devious people right now trying to find an exploit so they can mess with Mac users as much as they can with Windows users.
They have a tough job though, since OS X is significantly more robust than Windows, particularly in that it is not all monolithic and interdependent; there are many modules that make up OS X, but they don't lean on each other like a house of cards-and that is indeed the way Windows is designed.
And be forewarned; there are many people who consider computer platform decisions akin to religious affiliation...tread lightly!

I just picked up the $999 model. It will take a few days to get the ins and outs of the OS, but just keep asking questions. There are also a million plus books out there about OS X. Pick up a cheap Panther (the previous version of the OS) that would probably be 1/2 off. It will teach you the basics.

So ya finally did it, huh ? What do you think so far ? Done any Xbenching ? Use the Bluetooth at all ? Have any dead pixels ? Been able to test the battery life ? Hard drive model ??
I plan to order one this coming weekend (unless I chicken out ... I just had about $1000 of unexpected expenses crop up ... but I still want to strike while the iron is hot and even float the expense on a credit card for a couple of months if I have to With all the upgrades and included stuff, clearly the time to buy is now unless there is something tragically wrong with the new models).

Yep, I did it. I think I upset the Apple guy because I said I didn't want any extras. While at the Apple store, I was a little upset that the system didn't feel any faster then the previous version... but then I found out the display model WAS the previous model.
The screen is exactly what I expected. I'm not going to lie and say it is the greatest ever, but it is exactly what I thought it would be... good. I'm still getting comfortable with the keyboard, but the trackpad is great (gorickey had to tell me how it worked). The battery life is solid, I'm thinking it is around 5+ hours with general usage. I was running a few VLC movies and upgrading/installing programs.
No dead pixels that I have noticed, but if I had one or two, I probably wouldn't have taken it back. I'm happy so far. I just want this thing to last a few years and I'll upgrade to a Intel PB.
