I need a little help. I have a 60gb hard drive in my powerbook G4. If i click on the PB harddrive info it tells me that I have used 51gb's and only have 9 gb's left. That is the problem. I have recently cleaned out all of my drive (music movies etc) and know that I have a bunch of space but the drive wont show it. I use DISK OMNISWEEPER to look at the HD and this proves my point. It shows that I have used 15 gb's and have 45 gb's free! Any thoughts on whats going on with this drive. I know I have the space but it just wont show it!

Do you have FireVault on? Any sparse images? What's your swap load at?

trash is empty and I have no sparse images or movies-Fire vault is OFF. Not sure what the swap load is but if it is the amount of stuff deleted it was about 40gb's of movies and songs etc. I repaired disk permissions also. Any other thoughts?

Restarted yet?

FWIW, OmniDiskSweeper will not show you any info on files in other accounts for which you don't have access permissions to - do you have any other accounts?

Whenever I repair permissions, I always regain hard-drive space
