I ordered an ibook a week ago, and have been tracking it on the FedEx site since it was shipped...And when I check the site today, it says the ibook was already delivered at 10:00 am (it's the same "Delivered" message I got for my ipod and printer, which I received before the weekend). But it's now 4:00 pm, I haven't gotten the ibook, and the webpage says it was "Signed for by (name of some unknown person)". Is this anything to worry about or am I just being overly impatient?
No, this is normal for an iBook delivery. It's part of Apple's "Third Party Setup Assistant" plan.
The person who signed for it will check it out and set everything up for you, install extra RAM, etc.. Then when they're finished with it they will bring it over to your house or just mail it to you bulk rate USPS.
You should have ordered a Powerbook because it gets delivered to you personally, bypassing any third party setup assistant.
If you have a back yard/patio, check there. That is where they put my deliveries. If it is not there, call FedEx. Assuming that there was only one FedEx tracking number and not multiples for your different ordered components.
