hello there, my ibook is getting a bit slow, i have a g4 1.2ghz with 1gb of ram and only use for email, safari itunes etc but i always leave it on sleep. Ive only been using macs for a bit now and i cant work out how to clear out temp files as i think this might be why its getting a bit slow,

any idea's?

i'll ressurect this thread.
i had or would rather say i still have but figured about 80% of it.
Run activity monitor and sort by CPU usage. find out whats stealing those precious CPU cycles.

oddly enough i found out the GMAIL NOTIFIER for OSX was hammering my system so bad that i am actually noticing a difference in speed at the moment.

also, disable the stupikd power management which could make your HD sleep.
