i just got a new 1GB stick of ram from newegg.com today and i tried to install it. unfortunately i havent been able to unscrew 3 of the screws that hold on the latch to where you put the ram. should i take it into the apple store to get them to do it? or will they be mad that i've bought 3rd party ram and not do it? need response asap

Test that kingmax ram please, before you recommend it. It didn't work with crap in my 1.25ghz aluminum.

works perfectly in my 1.5ghz aluminum. runs really smooth. i read reviews for the ram on newegg and it had like all 5 star reviews from ppl with powerbooks and other laptops except for a guy with a pb like urs and ppl with hp laptops. weird.

The Powerbook instructions tell you not to over-tighten the screws when you replace them but it looked to me as if Apple had put loc-tite on them. I was lucky I had one of those eyeglasses repair kits with a really small screwdriver.
