Hello:

I've been troubled by this for quite a while...
I have a Canon powershot A70. I cannot really ''extract" the VIDEO file from the compact flash card using Iphoto and i don't really know what other things i could use. To simply put, i cannot see the files containing in my compact flash card, except photos. Is there any way to browse the files?

thank you very much!

I use to have the same problem with my Sony Cyber shot. What I do is since iphoto pulls up as the default program when you turn your camera on. I just minimize the program.

On your desktop should be a "drive" or flash card icon. (for me its an icon of my sony memory stick) I just double click to browse and pull the vido files out onto my desktop. Usually the default viewer is Quicktime. You can actually import those into imovie and make a movie out of the files. its pretty basic. let me know if this is understandable.
one day you are going to wake up and
live.

I'll bet those video files are not in the .mov format. Try looking at them with some file browser.

You should be able to use just about any USB compact flash "reader" device to look at the files on the CF card using your iBook; I've never had any problem with any such device and an iBook.

Try image capture to see if you can get the movie files off.
