According to this Appleinsider article:
"Precisely what will become of Apple's 12-inch PowerBook offering is an unknown. Prior to Apple's announcement to switch to Intel-based processors in 2006, reliable sources said Apple planned to abandon its 12-inch PowerBook offering with the release of the current model. It's unclear if these plans have changed in light of the Intel announcement and the fact that all PowerBook G4 models will see no further revisions after this year."
Hard to believe they would abandon this market. Seems to me the new Intel mobile chips will offer just what the 12" needs: power and cooler temperatures. We'll see.

I still say the iBook line should consist of a 12 and a 14. Maybe a 10" sub-notebook as well. Then make the PB line 13, 15 and 17.

13" fits in better with a 15" and 17".
They need a proper small powerbook though, the 12" pb has always been too close to the 12" ibook

Since when have rumor sites been reputable news providers?
The small notebook and sub-notebook market is huge. When new MacTel notebooks come out, then of course they're going to be different than the current powerbooks. Ergo, I too can predict that the current powerbooks, in their current form, will cease to be. It's a given. MacTel = new notebooks = powerbooks in their current form will cease to be.
Would you want it any other way? If you simply put a MacTel inside the current pb with no redesign, then there's not much excitement, is there?

I highly doubt Apple would kill their best selling powerbook.

No more updates before Intelification? How about a higher screen resolution?

whatever they do, make it affordable... will prices go up for Intel-powered PowerBooks...?
BTW, does anyone think apple will continue selling PPC PBs after the new Intel PBs are released at a discount...?
