I've basically got a few hours to decide between these two computers. Please tell me what the better choice would be. I want to do a lot of audio editing, mixng, and recording; as well as the basic computer tasks.
choice A. new powerbook g4 15 inch, 1.5 ghz, 1 gig ram, 80 gig harddrive, NEW IN BOX, 3 year applecare warranty; for $1635 and after selling my current computer for $400, the total will be $1235 spent by me.
choice B. used ibook g4 12 inch, 1.07 ghz, 768mb ram, 30 gig harddrive, used for 10 months, 30 days or so left on original applecare. full programs included: Microsoft office X, Adobe photoshop CS, macromedia suite, iwork, all four jam packs for garageband, logic express; for $780 and after selling my current computer for $400, the total will be $380 spent by me, but then i'll have to buy an extended warranty.
PLEASE HELP ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as i need to send the money tomorow. Thankyou to all who can give me advice!

I'd go for the iBook since you won't need the extra graphics capabilities of a powerbook. The iBook's smaller harddrive can be remedied by spending some of the money you save on an external enclosure. The speed difference between the two (43 Mhz) isn't too drastic so I'm sure you'll be able to manage all you'd need with the iBook while saving money. Good luck.

Personally I would definitly want the powerbook over the ibook, even more with the deal your getting. My suggestion is that if you want power and space get the powerbook, but if you dont need that much power (just surfing, email, light PS etc..) or need legit mac software I would go with the ibook. Either way you are going to make a good choice

1.5 =1,500mhz 1.07 =1,070 so there is more than a 43mhz diff...

My final thought is this:
In a year, a new powerbook will be out, and i'll get that one. In the meantime, I feel that a better deal is the used ibook.

Methinks you made the right choice for the right reasons.
Now, where can I get that deal on the Powerbook?!
