I have tried and tried to search this topic but it keeps saying there's a problem in the database. Does anyone have an opinion on buying a new apple on eBay - like this one: 12" iBook G4 . Says it's "New, Sealed In Box" and the price is $50 less than my academic discount gets PLUS no tax (another $80 savings). Seller has 100% positive feedback and it carries the full warranty. What's the downside?

If you buy an iBook and iPod mini from Apple in the US (on the same bill) with your education discount, you get a rebate for the cost of the iPod mini. And shipping is free from Apple.
Yeah, I was looking at that deal before I found mine. Unless you want the rebate on the printer or ipod mini, I'd go with the ebay deal. Plus, you'll save on tax if there's an Apple store in your state and you have a sales tax.
