I found out from posting that the powerbook batteries don't fit in perfectly, well I have another question from an anal person...

When I close my powerbook to put it in sleep mode I notice that when closed, the screen doesn't close as much on the right side as the left side.

there's just a little more space on the right side when i hold it up to my eye level.

I was just curious if others found that the lid doesn't perfectly line up when closed when you look at the space between the closed screen and the case itself.

I know it doesn't matter to the performance, I'm just extremely anal about these things and like to know i'm not alone.

yeah with me its the left is gapped slightly versus the right.

i even went so far as to setup a genius bar appointment but they assured me that it's normal. i've only had it for about a week too. after putting the squash on this i just rapidly got used to it and don't even notice it anymore.

it doesn't really hinder anything at all, your machine is still great.

It's normal but if it does bug you, consider the Radtech Wildpeepz. Dumb name, great product.

Greetings,

On my 5 day old PB, the right side was much higher than the left side when "apparently" closed. My expectations for this posing a problem were low, but I wanted a definitive answer. I took it to the Apple store for a professional evaluation. The Genius looked at it, and immediately said this was a flaw. If not fixed, this may cause the screen to wobble unnecessarily when in a sleeve or bag (on someone's shoulder while walking, biking, etc.). This is not in the best interest for maintaining the LCD. Her words not mine....she was making my case for me! I barely had to speak. I walked out with a new one that closes perfectly.

From reading the previous posts, it seems that my lid gap my have been on the extreme side. However, if you have any doubts do something about it. No one should pay beaucoup $$$ and settle for a warped work of art.
