I had posted before that I was looking for a LCD screen for my 12 inch PB. I am looking for a 17/19 inch in the less than 300 range (or if I can get bigger for the same price range). Through experience which monitor would you guys suggest (regular surfing, IM, light PS, and games that will run on my PB) for around that price range?

PS- I was looking at this LG http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824005020
and then seen this one, a little over what I would like to spend but its nice http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824179014
but have seen alot of people on here with dells

You don't say which 12" Powerbook you have, but if you have one with DVI (rev b, c, or d), the display you get should have DVI, which the cheap LG display doesn't. But what exactly about this is Powerbook specific? This should be in Peripherals.

Save up and get a widescreen . I prefer to look at my powerbooks 15 inch widescreen than my 19 inch standard screen.

I have a Samsung 172X 17" DVI monitor for my 12" PB. It was recommended by Macworld last year, and the price has now dropped into the $300 range. It's about the slimmest and lightest DVI monitor I've seen, and produces a bright, sharp, wonderful image -- but it's not widescreen.

I have the same monitor. It is truly excellent.
