So, I have been having some graphical anomolies lines, shapes etc appear randomly on the screen of my powerbook. They first began when my girlfriend was playing world of warcraft on my powerbook. When they appeared thinking the game had bugged or what not she relogged and then rebooted. Anomolies persisted and after logging some anomolies would appear on the desktoop as well.

The game was reinstalled and these problems persisted. Never immediatly but after 15-30 sec of playing.

Making me think that its a heat related problem.

I'm really not sure what to do about it. Any thoughts?

No idea sorry. Graphics drivers are kind of inherent to the version of the OS, so there is no easy way to re-install. Perhaps try the hardware test CD that came with you mac just to be on the safe side. Maybe it's just the game?

**thinking about it there was this update released recently: http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...supdate10.html

did you get that?

I don't think you need to worry about it. It's probably a games related issue. If you don't see these lines on regular use like the finder or other programs then everything is fine. Games have always issues with new graphic card drivers. The source of the problem might be the new update of the OSX (10.4.2) if you did that, that is. The new version contained new graphic card drivers for all powerbook models.
