I have a g3 ibook and the keyboard does not work, I have tried a replacement which was the same. An external usb keyboard works fine. This ibook does not have a reset button and since the keyboard does not work I cannot try ctr/alt/option to zap the p.ram. And no, there is no backup battery! Is there anything else to do except a logic board replacement?

Is it possible to zap the pram using the external keyboard?

You obviously can't do a pmu reset as you need to use the internal keyboard.

Are you sure the internal keyboard is connected correctly?

No, I think it must zap before boot up completed and usb initialised. and yes, I am sure the connection is sound

I suggest that you go down to your local Apple Store to see if they can diagnose the problem.
