Clean install of Tiger on this DVI 667 Powerbook. Suddenly, I can not adjust the screen brightness. The keyboard controls do not work, and under the Sys Prefs, there is no longer that slider where you could slide it to brighter or dimmer.

I have restarted, reset the PRAM, etc.

Anybody know what is happening here?

I think some PB users experienced the same as you but the prob wasn´t consistent. Did you upgrade tiger to 10.4.2?

Get used to it pilot, not all DVI Ti's are HARDWARE compatible with Tiger. The only way to get your brightness and resolution controls back is to go back to Panther.

Why should this be? It´s a bug and i guess it´s fixed with the recent updates.

Euphras, I own a 1ghz Ti DVI that has had this problem since day one. I have even made threads about it here. I have tried everything to fix this and nothing helps. I have all of the updates from apple and ati. So, a bug, yes. Fixed with the recent updates, NO. Do I think it will be fixed, not likely, apple won't even acknowledge the problem. All threads at apple forums on this topic get LOCKED for no reason. So again, if you want your brightness and resolutions back, go back to panther.
