So I've had my PB 12" for a little under 2 yrs. The screen seems to really hate me because according to the geniuses at the apple store, the white spots I keep getting on the screen are due to scratching or something-or-other. I use the pb everyday and take it to class 24-7, but it is nicely protected in a pouch and no other books reside in my backpack. I try to take good care of my pb, but I've noticed recently that I'm getting more and more white spots. Its just a shame to ruin such a good screen.

I've used an iskin thing to cover the keyboard for awhile, but after a year the keys felt annoying to press. Should I possibly get one of those plastic covers for the screen? I heard they increase the glare.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

I use the plastic insert that ships with the new PBs, but it looks kind of tacky...
plus you can't really clean the screen with it

Well if your problem is gunk on your keyboard (or the keys themselves) scratching your screen, then it should. I don't have firsthand experience with them. I also know many people who used to put a regular 8.5x11" sheet of printer paper between the screen and the keyboard back on the G3 Powerbooks, which were more notorious for their keyboards dirtying the screens.
