anyone here with a pb similar to the one described in the title tried running the sims 2 on it?

is it playable? if so what kind of framerates/detail are you getting?

I wish they could put out some kind of graphic demo just to see if it will run ok on your machine, no need for interactivity.

Also if not, anyone know how quick sc4 would run?

I wish I could play with my Pb 1.25 64Mb Video, my fps is very poor; try with a lower res like 800x600. But if you want to play Sims 2 I suggest you to change your pb or buy a G5 (instead of a PC )

my specs are in my sig......and i have the sims 2, and it runs fine for me with everything turned on high, and the res at the highest (i think its 1024)

if you have the 1.67 you should be ok with running the game, but you might not be able to run everything on max, cuz of your vid card....i hope you have a gig of ram, thats pretty necessary these days

thanks guys, looks like if i upgraded the ram to 1/1.5 gig it would run pretty well, but if i add this to the price of the game, it all sounds a bit expensive, might just spent that money on whatever new ipod thing comes out at paris/7th sept.

I find Strangetown to run the best of my PowerBook. My Sims are pretty happy with my current specs. Definitely up your ram if you can.
PowerBook 12" Combo 1.5Ghz 1.25GB Ram 100GB HDD - Yep it's PPC! I'll wait for the 3rd generation MacTel when they're at their best :)
